Scientific and Theoretical Knowledge
Physical Education teacher candidates know and apply discipline-specific scientific concepts critical to the development of physically educated individuals.
Artifact: PED 201 Labs
Reflection: By working with the children at Saint Mary's Elementary School I learned how to correctly assess children on different motor skills and movements. Each individual is different and have different levels of learning and I noticed this when children of the same age could not perform tasks as well as some of their classmates. Another aspect of teaching that I have learned was how to gain the students attention. As an educator, being energetic and happy to be there really draws them in and snatches their attention. If the teacher is happy, they are happy. They look at a teacher as a role model so your attitude can effect their attitude.
